Viktoria Sorochinski is a Ukrainian-born Canadian artist-photographer with a multicultural background, currently working and living in Berlin-Germany. Sorochinski received her Masters of Fine Arts from New York University (NYU) in 2008. Since then, she has had nearly 70 exhibitions in 21 countries throughout Europe, North and South America and Asia. Her work is published and reviewed in over 70 international publications including her monograph “Anna & Eve” published in Germany by Peperoni Books in 2013. She is also a winner and finalist of numerous international competitions, fellowships and awards including, Arnold Newman Prize for New Directions in Photographic Portraiture, Leica Oskar Barnack Award, LensCulture Exposure Award, Critics Choice Award,  Lucie Award (Discovery of the Year), Felix Scholler Award, Grand Prix Fotofestiwal Lodz, Magenta Flash Forward, PDN Photo Annual, Voies Off Arles Award, Photo London / La Fabrica Book Dummy Award, Meitar Award, Encontros da Emagem Prize, J. M. Cameron Award, Visible White Photo Prize, Descubrimientos PHE, BluePrint Fellowship, and Canada Council for the Arts Grant, among many others. In addition to Sorochinski’s pursuit of artistic career she is also giving lectures, workshops and talks in various institutions worldwide, as well as private mentoring and consulting.

Sorochinski is an author of multiple long-term projects dwelling between documentary and fiction testing the boundaries of Real vs. Fantasy. She is investigating subjects of intimacy, family dynamics, traditions, culture and mythology, often incorporating elements of narrative, performance and installation.
